“世界杯”英文缩写不对应FIFA（双语比赛）
“世界杯”的全名叫“国际足联世界杯”，由国际足球联合会举办，你可能会发现，国际足联的英文缩写并不对应FIFA，这其实是因为国际足联在法国成立，其法语为 Fédération Internationale de Football Association，其英文全称是International Federation of Association Football，国际足球联合会（简称“国际足联”）。

2022年世界杯的主办国是中东国家卡塔尔(Qatar)，2022年卡塔尔世界杯（FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022）是第二十二届世界杯足球赛，是历史上首次在卡塔尔和中东国家境内举行、也是第二次在亚洲举行的世界杯足球赛。
参加比赛的球队一共有32支，其中包括东道主和世界杯预选赛入围的31支球队。首先进行的是小组赛（Group stage）。小组赛中采取循环赛制，每个球队都会和小组中其它球队比赛一次，这样的循环轮流方式英语中叫做：Round Robin循环赛，小组赛后就是竞争激烈的淘汰赛（Knockout stage），我们经常听到的“K.O”其实就是knockout的缩写。
